Andernach

• Andernach is a town located on the left bank of the Rhine near the mouth of the river Nette in the State of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany. It is 13 miles (21km) north of Koblenz and one of the oldest towns in Germany.
• It was founded by the Romans in 12 BCE as Antunnacum in the Province of Germania Superior and marks the beginning of the Rhine Gorge. A rare 16th century CE medieval treadwheel crane is located by the riverside.
