Corbridge Hoard

  • The Corbridge Hoard is a collection of Roman Legionary body armour and weapons dating between 122-138 CE, and found at the Roman Fort of Corbridge, near Hadrian's Wall.
  • It was discovered in a chest on the site of the old Roman Fort in 1964 CE.

Contents

  • The Hoard contained 6 upper sets and 6 lower sets of Lorica Segmentata, enabling Historians for the first time, to reconstruct how Roman Armour was worn and made.
  • Spearheads, Bolts and a Sword Scabbard.
  • Wax writing Tablets.
  • Tools, a Pulley-Block, iron nails and a wooden bucket.
