Galba (69 CE) was the first of four Roman Emperors during the Year of the Four Emperors (69 CE). He reigned for seven months.

- Born 24 December 3 BCE. Died January 15, 69 CE
GALBA’S PLACE OF BIRTH AND DEATH:
- Born in Terracina, Italia. Died in the Lacus Curtius in the Forum Romanum, Rome.

- Nero
GALBA’S SUCCESSOR:
- Otho
HEIR TO THE THRONE BECAUSE:
- Galba specifically raised a Spanish Legion, the Legio VII Gemina Felix, to remove Nero. However, Nero committed suicide, leaving Galba free to take the Legion to Rome and be declared Emperor.
DIED PEACEFULLY OR ASSASSINATED:
- After 7 months in power, he was assassinated by the Praetorian Guard led by Otho.
WHERE BURIED:
- Buried in a Tomb beside the Via Aurelia

Galba was the first Emperor in the Year of the Four Emperors, after Nero‘s death.
Galba specifically raised a Spanish Legion, the Legio VII Gemina Felix, to remove Nero. However, Nero committed suicide, leaving Galba free to take the Legion to Rome and be declared Emperor.
Either by Nero or Galba also raised the Legio I Adiutrix possibly from the Marines of the Classis Misenensis.
After seven months in power, he was assassinated by the Praetorian Guard led by Otho.
