Aphorism

• An Aphorism is a brief phrase conveying a general truth or principle. An Aphorism differs from a Proverb by being shorter and more concise.
• The word was invented by Hippocrates when he compiled a work called ‘Aphorisms’. one of which was ‘Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food.’
