Apollonius of Perga

  • Apollonius of Perga (c. 262-190 BCE) was a Greek Mathematician and Astronomer.
  • He is famed for his eight Books on Conic Sections where he invented the Mathematical Names, ‘Circle’, ‘Ellipse’, ‘Parabola’ and ‘Hyperbola’.
