Battle of Noviodunum

• The Battle of Noviodunum was fought in 369 CE on the opposite bank to Noviodunum between Valens (364-375 CE) and a Germanic army.
• Valens won the battle and concluded a Peace Treaty with the Germanic Tribes.

Location

• Noviodunum is located 1 mile (2km) east of Isaccea in modern Roumania.
• It is not to be confused with the Siege of Noviodunum in 52 BCE, a town with the same name in Gaul during the Gallic Wars (58-51 BCE).
