- Burnum is the archaeological site of a Roman Legionary Fortress and town known as Burnum Municipium.
- It is located 1.5 miles (2.5km) north of Kistanje in Croatia and was in the Roman Province of Dalmatia.
History
- Burnum was occupied between c.9 CE until the 6th century CE.
- It was supplied by an aqueduct, the Plavno Polje, which was built underground for its entire length of 20 miles (32km).
- The location was chosen to control traffic around the river Krka.
