Castleford

• Castleford is a town located on the junction of the River Aire and River Calder, 12 miles (17km) southeast of Leeds, in the County of West Yorkshire.
• It was founded as the Roman fort and town of Lagentium to defend the river crossing on a branch of Ermine Street. No Roman remains are visible today.
