History
- The ruins of Charax today, are located between Yalta and Alupka.
- The Roman Fortress city of Charax was built by Vespasian (69-79 CE) and held detachments from the Danube Legions.

- Based in Moesia Inferior, sent detachments to Charax to maintain the Roman Fortress and Naval base in the second century CE.

- Also from Moesia Inferior, sent detachments to Charax.
