- The Coconut tree needs high humidity and warmth, which is why they are found mostly in the Tropics.
- The tree resists saltwater and the coconuts can float for hundreds of miles over the Ocean.
- Coconut leaves can be used as a roofing material and timber from the coconut tree can be used to build houses and boats.
- It is the National Symbol of the Maldives.
