Damascus

  • Damascus is the capital city of Syria located on the river Barada, and is one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities.
  • It was one of the ten cities of the Decapolis in the Province of Syria. It was on the Caravan road known as the Via Maris which ran between the Euphrates and the Mediterranean.

Museums

  • National Museum of Damascus
    •  Located at Shoukry Al-Qouwatly, Damascus.
    • The museum holds artefacts covering the 11,000 year history of Syria, including the Roman Period.
