Decapolis

  • The Decapolis were ten cities of Greek and Roman culture, located in Roman Judaea, Syria and Arabia.
  • They differed from their neighboring cities which were of Aramaic, Nabatean or Jewish culture.

Description

  • The Decapolis was not a union or League, but the cities were interconnected by a Road network and eventually all had their centres rebuilt on the Roman grid system with Temples and Public Buildings.
