• The Navy of Ancient Egypt is recorded on the walls of the Temple of Rameses III at Medinet Habu.

First recorded Sea Battle (c. 1190 BCE)

• The Battle of the Delta (c.1190 BCE) is the First recorded Sea Battle.
  • Ramesses III built a huge Fleet which blocked the Nile Delta and defeated the ‘Sea Peoples’ navy (possibly the Greeks), preventing them from entering the Nile.
  • This Battle is recorded on the walls of the Mortuary Temple of Rameses III at Medinet Habu.
