Equivocation

• Equivocation, also known as Prevarication or ‘Doublespeak’, is the use of Ambiguity in a statement in order to avoid the speaker having to commit himself or tell the truth.
• It is used as a literary device to prevent the audience from understanding the true intention of the Character or Protagonist.
