Euripides

  • Euripides (c.480-406 BCE) was one of the three Ancient Greek Tragedy writers, who all lived and wrote in Athens at the same time.
  • The other two playwrights were Aeschylus (c.525-455 BCE) and Sophocles (c.496-406 BCE)

Works

  • Euripides wrote 90 Works of which only 15 have survived. One of the Lost Works is Bellerophon.
  • The most famous surviving Works are:
    • The Trojan Women
    • Hecuba
    • Medea
    • Alcestis
    • The Bacchae
    • Cyclops
