- The archeological site of the Gallo-Roman Villa of Montmaurin, known as Villa Lassalle, is the largest known Gallo-Roman Villa in France.
- It is a Villa rustica located on the banks of the river Save in the village of Montmaurin in the Departement of Haute Garonne near the Pyrenees in France.
Description
- The Villa was a luxurious building with a vestibule, temple, nymphaeum, courtyards and over 150 rooms, many with Mosaics.
- It was a Latifundia with around 2,500 Acres (1,000 Hectares), a staff of 500 and was occupied between the 1st – 5th centuries CE.
