Great Pyramid of Cholula

  • The Great Pyramid of Cholula, also known as Tlachihualtepeti, is part of the much larger Mesoamerican archeological site of Cholula, located in the State of Puebla in Mexico.
  • It was originally a stepped pyramid and dates from the 3rd century BCE to the 9th century CE. It is the largest pyramid by volume in the world.

Dimensions

  • Although not as high as the Great Pyramid of Giza, it is the largest Pyramid in the world by size.
  • The Pyramid is built of adobe bricks, has a height of 82 feet (25m) high and a width of 1.033 by 984 feet (315 by 300m).
