Greek Pantheon

  • The Greek Pantheon, meaning Temple of all the Gods, was where the Twelve most important Greek Gods lived.
  • It was located on Mount Olympus, 100 miles (160km) west of Thessaloniki.

Description

  • Plato in ‘The Phaedrus’ (Dialogue) places the twelve Gods in the Zodiac each representing a month.
  • The first Greek Pantheon was inhabited by the twelve Titans, who after a ten year war were replaced by the Twelve Olympians.
