Heerlen

• Heerlen is located on the river Geleenbeek, a tributary of the Meuse, in the Province of Limberg in the Netherlands.
• It was the Roman Fort of Coriovallum in the Province of Germania Inferior.

History

• Coriovallum was located on the crossroads of the Via Belgica, which ran from Boulogne to Cologne, and the Road that ran from Xanten to Trier.
