Hekla

  • Hekla is a stratovolcano with a height of 4,892 ft or 1491m, which is located in the south of Iceland. It is one of a 32 active volcano system on the island.
  • It was known to the Icelandic Vikings as the Gateway to Hell and has erupted 20 times between 1104 and 2000 CE.
