Homophone

  • A Homophone is when two words have the same pronunciation but are not necessarily spelt the same way.
  • Examples are Ate and eight or Bow and bough.

Homonym

  • A Homonym is two different words that have the same pronunciation and spelling yet have different meanings.
  • An example is stalk (stalk of a flower) and stalk (to stalk a prey).
