Inveresk

  • Inveresk is a village located on the river Esk, 5 miles (8km) east of Edinburgh, in East Lothian, Scotland.
  • It was the site of a Roman Fort called Veluniate, now located beneath the St. Michael’s Parish Church. It was occupied during the second century CE, possibly by a Roman cavalry wing. No Remains are visible today.

Antonine Wall

  • The Antonine Wall is a Roman Defensive Wall in Scotland that was built of stone and turf between 138-142 CE.
  • It runs from coast to coast between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
  • The Fort at Inveresk lies to the east of the Antonine Wall.
