Isle of Man

  • The Isle of Man is located in the Irish Sea and is equidistant between Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales. The highest mountain is Snaefell at 2,037 feet (620m),
  • The island is self-governing and passes its own legislation, however, it is not a Sovereign State, being owned by the Crown with the title British Crown Dependency.

History

  • It was known to the Romans as ‘Manavia’.
  • It is unlikely that they ever occupied it as the only Roman Artefact to be found has been an Amphora.
