Jordanes

  • Jordanes was a Roman Official in the Byzantine Empire during the 6th century CE who was a Notarius (Secretary) to a Roman Client Kingdom in Scythia Minor (Eastern Romania).
  • He later became a Roman Historian and wrote a history of the Goths called ‘Getica’ whilst living in Constantinople in 551 CE.
