Justin

  • Justin, also known as Marcus Junianius Justinius, was a Roman Historian who lived in either the second or fourth century CE.
  • He is famed for his Historiarum Philippicarum Libri XLIV, which is a Description of Persian and Roman History.

    • ‘A Description of Persian and Roman History’.
    • 44 Books of which books 12 and 13 cover Alexander the Great.
    • It is based on brief summaries of the 44 books of the ‘Historiae Philippicae et totius mundi origins et terrae situs’ by Pompeius Trogus  which is now lost, written during the reign of Augustus (27 BCE-14 CE).
