History
- The King’s Highway was a Caravan Road ran inland from Heliopolis in Egypt via Arabia Petraea and Damascus and Palmyra in Syria to the Euphrates.
- This inland road was complemented by a parallel coastal road known as the Via Maris.
- The Route was rebuilt by Trajan in 111-115 CE as the Via Traiana Nova.
