Knowth Tomb

• Knowth Tomb is a Neolithic passage grave located near Newgrange, north of Dublin, Ireland.
• The mound dates from 3,200 BCE and consists of one large mound surrounded by 17 smaller mounds.

Description

• Knowth Tomb has two passages aligned East-West, and was encircled by 127 stones, with most still in situ.
• It is 40 ft (12m) high and has a diameter of 220 ft (67m).
• The Tomb contains 200 stones with carved Artwork.
• It contains one third of all known Megalithic Art found in Western Europe.
