- The Lebor Gabala Erenn is an ancient Irish Book that means ‘The Book of the Taking of Ireland’ or ‘Book of Invasions’. The earliest written copy is found in the Book of Leinster (c. 1160 CE).
- It consists of ten books containing the history of Ireland from the Creation to the Medieval Period, and is written in a similar style to The Bible. The Book does not mention the Romans.

- History of the Gaels:
- A book about the Exodus from Egypt.
- Cessair:
- A book about the Flood.
- This has been dated to 2,242 years after the Creation.
- Partholon:
- This book describes the arrival of Partholon, War with the Fomorians, and a Plague that wipes the out the Partholonians.
- Nemed:
- 30 years later, this book describes the arrival of the Nemed, again War with the Fomorians, and a Flood that wipes out the Nemed.
- Fir Bolg:
- A book about the Nemed survivors who escape to Greece but are enslaved. They return to Ireland after 230 years, calling themselves the Fir Bolg, Fir Domnann and the Fir Galioin.
- Tuatha Da Danann:
- This book describes the arrival of the Tuatha Da Danann (another branch of the Nemed) 37 years after the return of the Fir Bolg. After driving the Fir Bolg into exile, they go to War with the Fomorians, then remain unchallenged for 150 years.
- Milesians:
- These are the ancestors of the Gaels and are the sixth and final wave of settlers. They challenge the Tuatha Da Danaan and Ireland is divided between them, the latter have dominion below ground and the Milesians have dominion above ground.
