Leiden

  • Leiden is a port and university city located on the confluence of the Nieuwe Rijn (new Rhine) and Oude Rijn (old Rhine), 5 miles (8km) from the sea, in the Province of South Holland, Netherlands.
  • Leiden is a Medieval city which holds one of the world’s top universities, Leiden University was founded in 1575 CE. It is associated with the University Hospital, where the Leiden University Medical Centre specialises in clinical and medical research.
