Lorica Squamata

Lorica Squamata was Roman Armour made of metal scales of bronze or iron, and sewn onto a fabric backing.
Although it existed throughout the Roman Period, it was predominantly in use during the first and second centuries CE and was worn by Legionaries and by the Emperors. Only fragments of Lorica Squamata have survived.
