Lundy Island

  • Lundy Island is located in the Bristol Channel, 10 nautical miles off the coast of Devon, and forms part of the County of Devon in England.
  • It is owned by the National Trust.and leased to the Landmark Trust who operate a ferry and several holiday homes.

Description

  • Lundy is 3 miles (5km) long and 0.6 miles (1km) wide and is frequently covered by fog.
  • Over the centuries it has been used as a base by pirates and also as a shelter for sailing ships experiencing strong westerly gales.
