Lupercalia

  • Lupercalia was a Roman Festival that took place in the Cave of Lupercus, on the Palatine Hill. Lupercus was the Roman God of shepherds, also known as Pan in Greek Mythology.
  • It was celebrated on the Ides of February, which fell on the 13th, and continued through to the 15th.

History

  • The Priests were called Luperci and wore Goatskins.
