Mithridates IV of Parthia

  • King Mithridates IV ruled Parthia between 57-54 BCE.

History

  • His brother Orodes II challenged him for the throne and Mithridates IV was forced to flee to Syria.
  • He returned to Parthia at the head of a Roman Army commanded by the Governor Aulus Gabinius. But this army left to assist another Ruler in Egypt.
  • Mithridates IV was then captured by Orodes II and executed.
