Mopsuestia

  • Mopsuestia, also known Seleucia on the Pyramus (Ceyhan River), Misis, was a Port city located 12 miles (20km) east of Adana in Adana Province, Turkey. It is now the village of Yakapinar.
  • It was located in the Roman Province of Cilicia and ships could sail 24 miles (39km) from the docks down the Pyramus (Ceyhan) to the Mediterranean.

Museums

  • Misis Mosaic Museum
    • Located in Yakapinar, Adana, Turkey.
    • It holds numerous floor mosaics excavated from the Misis Tumulus, including some from a Basilica and Temple.
