Musikos agon

• The Musikos agon (Greek: ‘musical contest’) was a musical competition held at Delphi in Ancient Greece, at the same time as the Pythian Games.
• It was a Herald and Trumpet contest which came into effect from 396 BCE onwards. The God of music was Apollo, who had a Temple dedicated to him at Delphi.
