Palermo Stone

  • The Palermo Stone is a fragment of an Ancient Egyptian Stele listing all the Kings from the First Dynasty to the Fifth Dynasty (c.3150-2283 BCE).
  • It is the oldest historical record that survives from Ancient Egypt.

Description

  • The Palermo Stone is one of seven fragments, the others are held in London and Cairo.
  • Each of the seven fragments are known as the Palermo Stone or the Cairo Annals Stone.

Location

  • It is housed in the Regional Archeological Museum Antonio Salinus, Palermo, Sicily, Italy.
