Pan

  • In Greek Mythology, Pan was the God who represented Pastoralism and harmony with nature.
  • He was God of the Wild, of the Mountains, particularly Arcadia, of the Fields, Groves and Woods, of Fertility and of the Spring.

Description

  • Pan had the hindquarters, legs and horns of a goat.
  • Hermes and Penelope were considered to have been his parents.
  • He was also considered by the Ancient Greeks to be the God of theatrical criticism.
  • Pan ruled over the Shepherds and their Flocks.
  • He was the God of Pastoral music and freeform music improvised by the spirit of the moment.
  • Pan was the companion of the Nymphs.
