Pelagianism

  • Pelagianism is a theological stance in Christianity that rejects Original Sin and believes in Free Will.
  • It is based on the teachings of Pelagian (c.390-418 CE).

Pelagian

  • Pelagian was a monk living in Rome, thought to have come from Britannia or Brittany.
  • Pelagius rejected the concept of Original Sin and Predestination. He also opposed the Baptism of infants.
  • Pelagius believed in Free Will and the ability for the individual to achieve Salvation through his own efforts.
