- The Ruins of Perga are located 9 miles (15km) east of Antalya in the Antalya Province of the Mediterranean Region of southern Turkey.
- Perga was an Ancient Greek city which in 43 CE, became part of the Roman Province of Pamphylia. Later, it was the capital of Pamphylia Secunda.

- Apollonius of Perga (c. 262-190 BCE) was a Greek Mathematician and Astronomer. He is famed for his eight Books on ‘Conics’, where he invented the Mathematical Names, ‘Circle’, ‘Ellipse’, ‘Parabola’ and ‘Hyperbola’.
- St. Paul visited Perga twice in 46 CE, according to the Acts of the Apostles.
