Philitas of Cos

  • Philitas of Cos (340-285 BCE) was a highly influential Greek scholar, poet and grammarian.
  • He is considered to have founded the Hellenistic School of Poetry in Alexandria, Egypt. All his Works are Lost with only about 50 verses of his Works having survived.
