Plautus

  • Titus Maccius Plautus  (c.254-184 BCE) was a Roman Playwright in the Old Latin Period who wrote 130 Plays of which 20 have survived complete.
  • He wrote Comedies based on the Greek style. Works by him or similar in style are known as Plautine.
