Pomponius Mela

• Pomponius Mela (15-c.45 CE) was the first Roman Geographer to describe the known world in his work, De Situ Orbis Libri III.
• Little is known of his life other than that he was born in Algeciras (Tingentera), in Baetica (Spain).
