• The Ptolemaic Navy refers to the Navy of the Ptolemaic Dynasty in Egypt.
• It was said to number 336 war galleys with three or more banks of oars.

Bases

• The Navy had bases in Alexandria and Cyprus where it patrolled the Levant, Kom Ombo where it patrolled the Nile, and Berenice where it patrolled the Red Sea.

Wars

• The Ptolemaic Navy fought wars against the Macedonian and Athenian Navy, the Rhodian Navy, the Seleucid Navy and the Roman Navy.
• It was finally defeated by the Romans at the Battle of Actium in 31 BCE leading to Egypt becoming a Roman Province.
