- The Pythian Games were still being continued as late as 424 CE, unlike the Olympic Games, which were abolished by Theodosius in 395 CE.
Musikos agon
- The Musikos agon (Greek: ‘musical contest’) was a musical competition also held at Delphi in Ancient Greece, at the same time as the Pythian Games.
- It was a Herald and Trumpet contest which came into effect from 396 BCE onwards. The God of music was Apollo, who had a Temple at Delphi.
