Roman Beer

• Beer was consumed during the Roman Period, but only in small quantities as it did not travel, unlike Roman Wine which could be stored.
• It was brewed and drunk mainly on the frontier Provinces of the Rhine and Danube. A brewery was excavated at Regensburg legionary fortress.
