Roman Jokes

• A book called the ‘Philogelos’, meaning the ‘love of laughter’, holds a collection of 265 Roman jokes from the 4th century CE, but which were written in Ancient Greek and probably came from Ancient Greece.
• It is the oldest known book of jokes and is attributed to Hierocles and Philagrius.
