- Romford is a town on the river Rom in Essex in the Greater London Region of England.
- It was Roman Durolitum, referred to in a 3ed century CE document, and thought to have been a Fort and settlement where the Pye Road crossed the river.
Museums
- Havering Museum, Romford
- The Museum is located on the ground floor of the old Ind Coope Romford Brewery at 19-21 the High Street, Romford.
- The museum has two permanent galleries which showcase local history of the five towns that make up the Borough of Havering. There is also a temporary exhibition gallery.
- On display is a collection of Roman artefacts containing fragments of a hypocaust, roof tiles, pottery, tessaerae from a mosaic and the remnants of a Roman burial.

- The Havering Ring
- This is a Gold Roman Intaglio ring found locally, now on display in Room 49 of the British Museum.
- The Havering Hoard
- This is a Bronze Age collection of 453 pieces consisting of axe heads, spearheads, and fragments of swords, daggers and knives dating from between 900-800 BCE. The collection is in the Museum of London which is currently closed.
