Tagus

  • The River Tagus is the longest river in the Iberian Peninsular at 626 miles (1,007km) in length.
  • The second longest river is the Ebro, and the river with the second largest outflow of water is the Douro.

Geography

  • The Tagus flows west from Sacedon, northeast of Madrid and continues through central Spain and Portugal.
  • It empties via the Tagus Estuary into the Atlantic beside the port of Lisbon in Portugal.
