Temple of Hercules

Description

• The Temple was built in an unusual circular design, surrounded by 20 Corinthian columns, known as a ‘Tholus’. It had an Oculus in the roof, similar to that of the Pantheon.
• The foundations of a similar ‘Tholos’, exist at the Temple complex of Delphi in Greece.
