Temple of Venus and Roma

  • The Temple of Venus and Roma was Rome’s largest Temple after 138 CE, and is located on the Velian Hill in Rome.
  • It was dedicated to ‘Venus Felix’ (Lucky Venus) and ‘Roma Aeterna’ (Eternal Rome). Hadrian started construction in 121 CE and the Temple was inaugurated in 138 CE.
